Tell us a little about yourself.
My name is Leslie owner of Leslie Estelle Photography. I am a wife, a creative entrepreneur and a free spirit at heart. I love and seek adventures and new experiences. I’m a bit of a dare devil and adrenaline junkie. A couple of years ago, I was diagnosed with cognitive behavioural and separation anxiety. Photography is one of the things that has grounded and helped me through. I decided that I’m not defined by my illness and learned to embrace it. Along with photography, I come home to an amazing husband (Jordan) and puppy (Cooper). Some days I honestly don’t know what I would do without my family and friends.
What inspired you to begin wedding photography?
Love has inspirited me in starting wedding photography. When I was a little girl “love” was everywhere. I could see it in the way my parents embraced each other, in the way my grandparents held hands or even the connection between my first puppy and me. These connections pulled me in and the feelings surrounded my mind. I put this beautiful feeling of emotion into telling your story through images.
How long have you been in business?
I have always had a camera in my hands, but decided to make this passion into a career 2 years ago.
Do you do Photography for a living?
Yes. Photography is something I do on a full-time basis.
Describe your photography style.
I am a documentary / lifestyle photographer. I love taking a step back and documenting your day just unfolding. Catching the moments that people tend to over look and clicking my camera shutter when I feel that emotion. Sometimes there is need for direction and that’s also something that I’m o.k with. Overall, I love to get to know my clients very well. I want them be their REAL selves and be vulnerable with each other in front of my camera.
Do you have an assistant on the wedding day? If so, why?
Yes I do have an assistant on the wedding day. My husband and I work as a team. I love sharing my passion with him. We compliment each other so well. Every wedding we do takes us back to our own elopement day. The feelings, the butterflies and the commitment of two best friends.
How important is Photoshop in your final images?
Photoshop is actually the program I use the least. Photoshop is great for editorial photo editing but since I take on a more natural feel, Lightroom is my go to.
Where would be your dream destination to photograph?
My dream destination would be to photograph in Africa! I’ve always loved the outdoors(it’s really my second home) and I’m a big animal advocate. Africa is definitely my top spot to shoot.
Do you offer customized packages?
I do customize some packages. Everyone’s love story is different and that means not everyone wants to capture the same moments. So I try and cater to the best of my abilities.
How much should I budget for my photography package?
I would say to budget according to how much photos mean to you, on the day of your wedding. Choosing your wedding photographer should be a combination of budget but also (more importantly) the connection you have to the photographer and their photos.

"My husband and I got to meet Leslie in DR while down for a wedding. We were excited to get some shots done to help us remember our amazing vacation. After getting to know Leslie, she is the sweetest. She made us feel completely natural while capturing the most amazing shots! Her talent and eye for details makes her photos really something special. She made the entire shoot relaxed and fun which helps put anyone at ease while in front of the camera. We would highly recommend her work and services to anyone wanting a true professional to capture their special moments. Can't wait to get her to capture our next milestone, whenever that may be :) all the best" - The Campbells
